Xslimmer – Biggest Looser of the software world
I should really start by saying that no I’m not slamming xslimmer. Infact I’m giving it the biggest compliment I can. Xslimmer is your mac on a diet! (No I’m not that cleaver, I stole that from their site). Ok i’ll stop being cute, and get down to buisness. Xslimmer allows you to examine your programs and remove bloated binaries, and unneeded languages. I’m running a MacBook Pro (which has an intel chip). So why do I want all that bloated code for a old PowerPC? And because I’m an arrogant American I only know English, so why do I need a french language files for mail.app.
I know what your thinking, come on man, how much room can you really save? Well I’ve cleaned 81 programs and saved 2.23gb! And all this for only $12.95!
I know what your thinking now too! Dude that’s going to kill my software, it’s going to work, or it’s going to be buggy after I clean it. I’ve had 0 problems since cleaning my software and to be perfectly honest they “feel” like they load faster. Mail.app is probably the biggest example of this. After cleaning it I saved 264mb of space! And she fells much more nimble on opening!
Now for the good news, you can try it out for free at http://www.xslimmer.com/ you’ll be limited on the amount of space you can clear out but, I know your going to find it to be worth a dozen bones!

I’ve heard good things about this and decided to try it out on my early 2008 macbook pro. honestly, I don’t notice much difference in speed. and now it makes me kinda concerned thinking about upgrading to snow leopard.
