When silence means more then words
Ok it’s been well over a week now and I’ve started to get emails concerning how the transition from Windows XP to Ubuntu has gone for my mom. Well I’m suprised to tell you that my phone line has been remarkably quite concerning this issue. However to boast what Ubuntu has accomplished I feel it’s important to discuss the phone calls I have gotten. All two of them! So for those of you keeping track we are at two for the entire months so far….
1. User couldn’t log in due to a failure to remember her login. Can’t blame ubuntu for this one, it’s just a standard user issue.
2. User wanted to send a an email to my grandmother but was concerned if the email would send the entire website…ha, parents….. as if the entire website was wrapped into the one email she got…the simplicity is almost wonderful….eitherway, the truth is it’s not a ubuntu issue.
Ok so, so far it’s going great. She hasn’t had one issue that I would say is related to the OS, and she hasn’t complained once. That’s a big deal, to be fair, if she had one issue I’d hear about it.
I hate admitting when I might be wrong, but is it possible that my depreciated limitation of Linux could be limited? Shane, don’t feel the need to comment on that last comment. Either way, I’m holding tight for my final verdict, but let’s see what happens

can you teach her not to type all emails in caps and also to switch it so her latest comment on an email string goes at the top of the email and not at the bottom?? It would make my life happier. lol
I’m glad your mother’s computer is working out to her benefit. That’s all I have to say.
