This website!
Why am I writing an article called this website? Well simply put I wanted to make it clear how and with what I am making this website, and quite honestly to defend myself from the self loathing I find myself going through when I setup my own site. Here’s the deal, when your setting up a site for yourself you realize that you want it to be nice, and you want to keep your content fresh, cause that’s what makes the web great. But honestly who’s got the time to keep it going. If I had to custome right my own pages everytime I wanted to do something I’d go nuts. So I’ll outline how I put this little puppy together.
Platform
I’m running the newest version of Wordpress on a very inexpensive and easy to manage godaddy account. Setup was quite honestly a breeze. I’ve looked at alog of different blog software and Wordpress by far is the simplist and straightforward as far as installation and maintenence. I’ve actually using Wordpress for several websites. This site, a site for a Weblog of the Head Pastor of our church at drjeffadams.com, manspeak.org (a website for a men’s ministry at our church), and the missionary updates & weekly announcments of our main church website at www.kcbt.org all use Wordpress.
Template
I started off using Kiven’s Wowza theme. Then modified it to my liking. I have to admit it’s a clean theme and that made the editing very simple! As you can see it doesn’t look anything like Kiven’s but it got me to where I wanted to be with my site. I don’t know Kiven but, buddy your did some nice work on that layout, thanks.
Beyond
Well that’s as far as I’ve really gotten right now, but as I develop what I’m building here I’ll be adding on. So come back and take a look.

I’m really curious about what are you going to do with this website. I’ve been hesitating to register this domain name since six month ago. I’ve seen the domain registered by “domain tasters” and be dropped within 5 days a lot of times.
Finally, a real human came with the same idea and got it. I’m certainly happy.
So, how did you came up with this name ?
I’m an IT Director for a church in kansas City, mo. kcbt.org
I’ve been talking with a few co-workers and friends about building a site that would be focused on how to build & maintain a network, computers, and website…with article specifically geared for churches and non-profits. Where cost is important, and ease of use is mandatory.
I just got the url, and right now it’s pointing to my personal site, that’s just been a kind of waste land of activity…..
The plans are still in the forming but in a nutshell the plan is to link together other IT personnel from non-profits and churches into a community of people who can share information and ideas for other organizations.
There should be some real forward movement as far as design and concept this week….
