File Dropper
I constantly get calls from our Worship teams within the church that want to transfer large files to a Pastor or some staff person and of course our Exchange server blocks files of unreasonable sizes. So what’s a guy to do. For a while I played with the idea of having them use FTP, but to be honest, I didn’t want the risk of having a “local” FTP location, and teaching the staff and our volunteers how to use FTP seemed like a daunting and somewhat impossible task. So what’s a nice IT Director to do?Enter drop.io with no registration necessary, a 100mb limit, and simple select a file & click upload it’s simple enough that anyone can use it, and it saves me the hassle of finding another solution. There are some great features to drop.io that go way beyond what I’ve suggested. You can upload files via the web, email, phone messages, faxes, and widgets.I recently heard an interview with the creator of drop.io on net@nite, They have some great plans for drop.io and I look forward to using drop.io much more in the future.
