Finetune.com
This weeks Website of the week came to me by complete accident. I had recently been messing with Adobe Air for an article on itchurch.com. I’d never heard of finetune.com so I thought I’d go check it out, assuming I’d find yet another online streaming radio network.
And to be fair I did, but it’s really well done, and if you enjoy discovering new music, but like me you have a very specific genre. I think you’ll like finetune.com. First off when you setup an account you begin by telling it who your favorite bands are. Once you’ve accomplished this, I recommend creating a play list of your favorite tunes, but don’t feel bad if you can’t come up with a ton songs, let it pick some for you based off of your previous picks. Once you’ve completed your playlist share it with others so they can see what it is your listening to via their wordpress plugin (see mine on my personal blog) or just link them to the page http://www.finetune.com/playlist/2112525.
Or if your in the mood for finding something new, just type in an artist and click play…it will start off with a track by your artist then go to other artists with a similar feel.
So your probably asking yourself how did you find this via the Adobe Air webiste? Well their is a stand alone player for finetune.com via Adobe Air. It’s fantastic light weight and allows me to keep on surfing while it’s handling the mood music!
But wait, we aren’t done. If your the owner of a Nintendo Wii you’ll be pleased to know they have a website setup just for us Wii owners at www.finetune.com/wii, and man that is what made finetune.com this weeks pick for me! Internet radio through my stereo system with a wireless remote (via my wii) and I’m in heaven!
