I recently heard about youversion.com from a friend @babusaada.  On the surface it doesn’t look like much, looks like just another online bible reading program. But then I started digging.  As you are reading through the Bible you can “tag” certain verses and then attach media, links, or even keep your own online journal about what God is teaching you right there in your youversion.com account.  But the fun doesn’t end there.  You can “follow” other people as @babusaada does, he follows his wife and she follows him. So they can share what it is that God is working with them on in their relationship with God.  This could be a great tool in accountability and and furthering spiritual growth, especially for the technologically inclined!  Although this site is still in beta, and from what I’ve gathered linking to media is still a work in progress.  I could see real potential here for churches to link their video or audio sermons directly to a specific piece of scripture.  So as others read through the Bible on youversion.com they could come across sermons that deal with the specific passage they are examining.  Small groups could use this tool to further discussion and analysis of God’s word by posing questions of interesting finds to the other members of the group.

All in all a very interesting new take on the same old online Bible tool, definately worth a look! You can visit You Version at youversion.com
